About LuLu
Lulu may have a delicate name, but this little guy has already proven he is one tough Yorkie. At approximately 7 years old and just 7.4 pounds, Lulu came to Yorkie Rescue Houston after his family sought euthanasia because of a severe injury to his right eye. The veterinary record notes that the cost of the surgery he needed was more than his family could manage. Instead of Lulu’s story ending there, he got his second chance. Lulu’s injured eye could not be saved, so he underwent an enucleation to remove the right eye. While he was under anesthesia, he was also neutered and received desperately needed dental care. His dental disease was rated Stage 5/5, and 17 teeth were extracted during his procedure. His initial bloodwork also showed significant anemia along with changes consistent with inflammation.
